League Championship

It was brought to my attention that there are conflicting versions of what was decided last September in reference to the following question:

"What happens when the same team wins both the first half and the second half?"

Answer 1 -- They win - no playoff.
Answer 2 -- The second place team in total overall points for the year plays the first place team.
Answer 3 -- Either the second place team from the first half or the second place team from the second half, whoever has more total points, plays the first place team.
Answer 4 -- ????

It seems to me that Answer #1 was what was decided because of all the possible combinations of teams that could legitimately make a claim to play in the final.
